STORY
Here's just a brief summary of what Newsies is all about. For those of you who haven't seen the movie (shame on you! ^_^), don't worry there aren't any spoilers.
In New York City, the year is 1899, Joseph Pulitzer (Robert Duvall) finds out that his newspaper (The World) has more money going out than going in. His options are to make salary cuts to the employees at the top or rasie the price the newsies pay for their papers. Being the greedy man he is he chooses to raise the prices.
Our newsies aren't too happy 'bout this. They can't afford to pay more. After thinking for a bit Jack Kelly (Christian Bale) gets the idea to strike. David Jacobs (David Moscow) doesn't think it's a good idea because he's got doubts about the whole thing. But he knows he can't stop Jack so he gives in. Jack being a born leader and David with his smarts together they lead the newsies of New York. This is their story about their right to live. :)
