ban�ner (b n' r) noun
A headline spanning the width of a newspaper page.
"Carrying the banner."
bawl (b l) verb bawl�ing
To cry or sob loudly; whine
"Ah, stop yer bawlin'!"
bull (b l) noun
A police officer.
"It's the bulls!"
cheese it (ch z t) slang
To get away fast.
"Cheese it! It's the bulls!"
chum (ch m)
A close friend.
"Carrying the banner with me chums."

openly and boldly resisting
"Proud and defiant, we'll slay the giant."

A usually heavily populated area of a city, characterized by poverty, poor housing, etc.

Snobbishly aloof; haughty.

To give a heavy blow; beat up.

A greedy, stingy person who hoards money for its own sake, even at the expense of personal comfort.

A girl or woman, esp. one who is promiscuous.

two bits (t b ts) noun
Twenty-five cents.

A stage show consisting of mixed specialty acts, including songs, dances, comic skits, acrobatic performances, etc.
